BECOME A MEMBER TODAY!
To
join the APLD Oregon Chapter, you must first join the
APLD International organization.

Membership is open
to new and seasoned landscape designers, landscape contractors,
students, gardeners, and suppliers.
* Note: If you qualify for Student
membership in either category listed below, please
note that to be a student member of the
Oregon Chapter you will still need to pay the $20
annual student membership fee. This will allow you
to receive email updates of all Chapter events and postings.

Categories
of International APLD Membership: |
|
Associate - Standard level of
membership.
Certified - Requires a juried
process that looks at a designer's
work as well as references. You must
first join as an Associate member.
Information on Certification
requirements is available online at
the international website, through
the "Members Only" login page
Educator - A professional
landscape design educator or teacher
who is not a practicing Landscape
Designer.
Allied - Companies or
individuals that provide services
and/or products that are resources
for the landscape design profession
Student - There are two
categories of student memberships:

Traditional student:
Free
membership
Students who take classes full-time
(as evidenced by transcripts) toward
earning an Associate's degree or
higher in a post-secondary
educational institution. Limited to
four years of membership at this
level. Must submit transcripts to
APLD.

Professional Education and
Certificate students:
$50 membership
Students who take classes
and work toward earning a
professional certificate in a
program requiring at least 24 total
required credits. Students are
enrolled on either a full- or
part-time basis. Also included in
this category are part-time students
attending a 2- or 4-year college or
university. Limited to four years of
membership at this level. Members
taking courses to complete required
CEU's for certification are excluded
from this level of membership.
NOTE:
Any student member may not be
practicing landscape design for free
or in a fee-generating capacity
unless it is part of a student
internship related to their design
program.

Membership dues
are assessed on a calendar year and
are not prorated. If you are
paying dues after Sept. 30th, your
membership will be automatically
rolled over into the following year.

BENEFITS OF INTERNATIONAL
MEMBERSHIP:
Identity of Certification - for those individuals
who choose to become certified there is the
opportunity to use the APLD® designation after your
name, offering the professional recognition that you
deserve from the only national organization that
offers landscape design certification.
Annual Conference: members get a preferred rate
for registration at these exciting and interesting
events.
Continuing Education - Outstanding educational
seminars with information on the latest advances in
the industry are offered at yearly national and
regional conferences. Most importantly, these
opportunities to network with colleagues are valued
as the ultimate resource for independent
practitioners.
Publications - Members receive the Designer, our
official publication, as well as complimentary
subscriptions to several green industry
publications. There is also a quarterly publication
called "Design Online". Also available to purchase in bulk are
marketing brochures, e.g. - Guide to Hiring a
Professional Designer and Guidelines for
Ecologically Sound Residential Landscapes.
International Directories & Web Presence- Members
are listed in APLD® official directory, published
each Spring, and cross-referenced by state.
Membership is searchable by State from our Web page
www.apld.org, with links to member sites.
Speaker's Bureau - Members interested in obtaining
speaking engagements may use this forum to register
their topics, availability and fees. Speaker's
Bureau listings are available on-line through our
Web page.
